We appreciate your interest in SMS Resources.
In order to obtain Credentials for text messaging, you first need to register and receive approval
from The Campaign Registry, through its interface with SMS resources. So, please read on and
remember business phone is available to you 24/7/365... evenings, weekends, holidays...
seriously!
SMS Resources is the first of the S/L Technology Partners found in the Marketplace that was inte-
grated within the SiteLink SMD software; and - because of that fact - the first able to post incom-
ing (Response) text messages from your customers into their Tenant Notes, as-well-as the Bulletin
Board of Tasks & Reminders. This, in effect, is the "two-way texting" that the others have tried to
provide for so long.
Good news, too, is that over time, while there have been improvements and upgrades to our offer-
ings, all the "extras" are still at no additional cost, and the price schedule has remained the same
with no indication that there's a need to modify it anytime soon ! ! !
A reminder of items of interest to you:
All inclusive text message unit pricing - no "extras" or hidden charges
Proprietary URL shortening app (no bit.ly/goog.ly/tinyURL problems)
Free extra services and reports - including two-way texting
"Key word" individualization of group messages
Texting is a great vehicle for more than just staying on top of delinquent tenants. We mention this
because monthly texting in single or double digits is low volume. Even combined outbound/in-
bound use in the low triple digits is still small.
Combined Outbound/Inbound monthly usage approaching 250 text message units takes a long
code out of the low volume classification and assures the location doesn't get classified for that
month as a low usage location, liable for a service fee.
Upping volume provides opportunities for increased customer relations, information exchange,
situational awareness, and event notification… any low use service fee folds into regular monthly
billing and, for all intents and purposes, is eliminated.
So, now, on with the "recap"... It's full of thoughts and ideas ! ! !
SMS Resources, LLC, has been providing internally integrated text messaging to SiteLink
Web Edition users since the 1st Quarter of 2012. Other technology partners are a bit "John-
ny come lately," two having come on board roughly four-and-a-half/five years or so ago; the
last, just recently. Military people will tell you the value and meaning of hash marks on your
lower sleeve... we have 'em, we earned 'em!
Now, We want to assure you that every time you see the letters “S M S” in one of our communi-
cations, it is not us trying to display SMS Resources' company name at every opportunity.
“S M S," as you know, actually stands for "short message service." With that said... when
you make use of SMS, you -literally- have the most modern of communications technologies
right at your fingertips.
Starting out, We included some statistics. You don't have to believe us; they're annotated
so you can check them yourself, if you'd like. They help to show that a message has the
best chance of getting read when sent as an SMS "text."
- 98% of cell phones owned by adults in the US are SMS enabled CTIA survey
- 99% of text messages are read Singlepoint
- 95% of text messages get read within 5-minutes of delivery Singlepoint
Add to this the fact that...
- 80% of e-mails aren't even opened http://www.marketingprofs.com
- 71% of Tweets are ignored http://www.wired.com
- 88% of Facebook posts are not viewed http://www.techcrunch.com
So... the SiteLink/SMS Resources integration of text messaging into the SiteLink Web Edition
management software you use... a golden opportunity if there ever was one ! ! !
Moving forward with the recap, we'll visit the broad array of possible uses for text messaging
in the self storage industry, as-well-as information on long codes and the SMS Resources
price schedule.
Since all our integration and code writing is already done (just like Prego, “It's in there.”),
it doesn't take long, nor much effort, to put the ducks in a row to get a new texting user
up and running... setup takes so little time! Yes, we are -truly- PLUG'N'PLAY.

Text Messaging Technology at your Fingertips

SMS Resources text messaging, in combination with SiteLink self-storage software, provides
a value-added combination.
Text messaging is being utilized by quite a few self-storage companies as the primary means
of issuing invoices.
On the other end of the spectrum, text messaging can be utilized as a way of delivering ever
escalating delinquent account reminders. We all know about the time, expense, and low pro-
ductivity generated by “phoning around” to collect from tenants who are in arrears.
As well-known, the “old way” of using the phone for collections meant that someone had to
manually create a list of delinquents to contact, dial them individually, wait to hear if it's a ring,
busy or answering machine, wait to hear if they pick-up on the original call, deliver the appro-
priate voice mail message, with the right inflection if they don't... wonder if they listen to the
voice mail at all... sit in anticipation of a response to the voice mail - - this all takes valuable
time; man hours that could be more productively utilized in the office (or, around the site).
Through your SiteLink account, you can create the parameters for the list you want to gener-
ate... once. You select the pre-existing SiteLink “sentences”/templates/"forms" you'd like to
use OR generate your own original wording (with or without our no cost help). Then, instruct
your SiteLink account as to the day/date/time you'd like the text message(s) sent. It's as sim-
ple as that!
You've just created a 3-way win...
...you've increased your monthly revenue significantly
...you've decreased the monthly percentage of delinquency
by a most recognizable number
AND
...the extra man-hours you've gained by eliminating the phone
approach to collections can be directed toward other tasks in
and around the office and the site.
Add to this... text messaging, also, affords a quick and easy way to communicate with tenants
(or, staff) about emergencies OR maintenance events/special items they ought to mark on their
calendar.
Anniversary greetings on a tenant's contract date are a wonderful way to stay "in front" of your
customers; even a great excuse to invite them into the store to pick-up a promotional premium
or advertising gift.
Last, what could be better for straight-up customer relations than sending your tenant a birthday
greeting via text on their special day? ...for seven cents or less!
SMS Resources seamlessly integrates texting connectivity with your SiteLink management pro-
gram, making it easy to communicate with customers, staff or administration.
Making SMS Resources services part of your everyday operation allows you to improve commun-
ication quality and speed, while increasing marketing opportunities... seamlessly!

The sliding pricing for SMS Resources services is quite simple, straight forward,
and reasonable.
For SMS Resources gateway services in conjunction with SMD Software (SiteLink)
usage:
Monthly Text Volume Text Unit Price
up to 10,000 $ 0.0700
10,001-25,000 $ 0.0680
25,001-50,000 $ 0.0660
50,001-75,000 $ 0.0640
75,001 or more $ 0.0620
Remember, companies with multiple locations, whether owned or managed,
receive the benefit of all locations' usage being looked at as one. In-other-
words, the company pays the lowest price per text message based on total
company usage during a month, rather than each individual site receiving its
own evaluation.
Price on Long Code maintenance: $1.99/per month/per site.
The term is month-to-month. SMS Resources does not try to hold any cus-
tomer "hostage." If the program works efficiently for you... great! If not, there
is no problem... we -simply- request the courtesy of a 30-day notice.
SMSres has a process within its software that eliminates the establishment of
an initial “bank” of message units, followed by replenishment when low level
counters “see” the level of message units drop below a specific minimum. You
enjoy never ending supplies of text message units, to be utilized when required,
and billed after-the-fact.
Actual per message costs are based on monthly traffic. A message launched to
a non-cellular number will be charged at the appropriate per message rate. How-
ever, both SMS Resources and SiteLink have venues to tag them against future use.
Also, the utilization of SMS Resources' very well known service -Look Up- virtu-
ally assures that there will not be an undeliverable text message. Technical sup-
port is available via email or telephone from either SMS Resources or SiteLink.
Trust this is all plain and clear. We provide a good and fairly priced service, with
the extra value added feature of real time access to your data within SiteLink.
Should you have some questions, please call us!!!
We have always been a 24/7/365 kind of bussiness and will welcome your call at, virtually, any-
time.
Again, we look forward to the prospect of providing service to you ! ! !
So, what would need to be done should we decide that we ought to agree to agree?
Things have changed somewhat since the advent of
The Registry program
of AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon. The most important item in getting a site approved and
onboard is getting it through the vetting process of The Campaign Registry program. Key is documenting the EIN of the corporate entity and/or the indivi-
dual sites. SS-4's or 147-C's are the means; we can discuss what's involved at your
convenience.
Another item you need to send to us... a blank copy of the lease that new tenants
sign/e-sign that does, in fact, identify your storage facility and displays the legal street
address/city/state/ZIP of the particular location... the phone number, too, if possible.
We mentioned that in addition to having full and ultimate control of approval, the program has, also, taken over the issuance of Dedicated Long Codes so we can no
longer send you a full set of Credentials "before you turn out the lights and lock the
office door this evening." We've got to coordinate with anticipated turn around
issuing Long Codes.
A reminder... one more financial aspect: AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon add-on fees. They're
minimal: o.t.o $25.00 Brand Registration/Network Access/Account Vetting; mthly $1.50
Campaign Registration.
Then, there's certain of our paperwork (the Service Agreement) and detail (Site Cre-
dentials) that must be tended to.
Those needs and requirements come in two parts . . .
To set-up the Service Agreement we need:
- full legal name of the umbrella organization (read: firm); including if
it is an Inc., LLC, LC, LP, etc., etc.
- firm's 4-character SiteLink assigned Corporate Code
- firm's full street address, city, state, ZIP
- firm's landline phone #
- AP/AR address details if different from above
- main contact at firm
- main contact's cell phone #
- main contact's e-mail address
- AP/AR contact (if it is a different individual)
- AP/AR contact's e-mail address
To create the Credentials that give your locations access to SMS text
messaging through your SiteLink account(s):
- name of the location(s) being started/as commonly referred to internally
and/or as known by the general public and their SiteLink "L-code(s)"
- street address, city, state, ZIP of the location(s)
- landline phone number of the location(s)
- the website that serves the location(s),
if more than one, please list all of them
- manager's name of the location(s)
- cell phone #(s) of the manager(s)
(optional - only used in emergency situations)
- e-mail address(es) for the location(s) that all desk staff would have access to
NOTE: Each location must have its own, different than the others!
- desired Password(s)* for the location(s)
NOTE: Each location must have its own, different than the others!
*Guidlines for creating your Password(s):
- minimum of 5; maximum of 10 characters
- any combination of upper or lower alpha/numerals/symbols
- no matter what length, at least one must be a numeral
There are no forms or applications for you to fill out. For your site, simply copy and
paste the questions, above, into your response email... answer each question right
behind the individual question.
We are looking forward to the next time we exchange thoughts and ideas, whether it be
by phone, TXT or email. In the interim, trust you've garnered enough information
through our phone call, any SMSres videos you may have viewed via SiteLink or You-
Tube, and -of course- this "recap" email. (The video links will be coming, shortly, in
an additional email.)
